First time wig wearer and have some questions?
-
Do wigs require a lot of additional care?
Wigs do not require a ton of care, if maintained properly. Upon your first visit, and again when your wig arrives, we will walk through the limited, recommended care. Both Synthetic and Human Hair Wigs retain their shape. Post-cleansing, human hair wigs do need to be styled, and we are more than happy to do that for you!

How should I store my wig when I'm not wearing it?
It is recommended to store it on a wig stand or a mannequin head. You are able to store wigs in a silk pouch in a box, as well.
-
If I plan to undergo chemotherapy, at what point should I shop for a wig?
While all timelines are personal and most treatment plans vary, we recommend booking a consultation prior to beginning chemotherapy, if you are able to! This will allow for enough time to pick out a new look and have your wig at home. If you are unsure about wearing a wig, we still recommend booking a consultation so we can walk through different options!
-
Will wearing a wig cause additional hair loss?
If wigs are worn properly and cared for accordingly, they should not cause additional hair loss.
-
If I know I am going to lose my hair, when should I make my first appointment?
We recommend making an appointment as soon as you can. This will allow us to fit you in a wig that closest resembles your biological hair, if that is the look that you desire. Additionally, ordering your wig in advance of hair loss, typically provides comfort and peace of mind, as you go through this transition.

Can I sleep in my wig?
We do not recommend sleeping in your wig. Sleeping with a soft scarf or cap on can be more comfortable while allowing for appropriate warmth. If you'd like to sleep with a wig on, we recommend wearing an older wig that you do not plan to wear, during the daytime.
